I would go for a light or hazel brown. It will really compliment your natural color. Blonde might be a little too punk/rocker girl in a band kinda look (unless that's what you want). Just please don't get red or orange highlights. They look horrible on black hair!

last time I got my highlights I thought it should have been more noticeable in the back and when I brought it to their attention was told that they were sorry and would do a better job next time. honey there wont be a next time. I have since taken my money elsewhere, paid less and got a better job done.

you can ask them to try to fix it but the strippers are so harsh on your hair that it may end up making it worse or damaging your hair. considering how quick they grow out I would say just forget about it. Unless its SUPER noticeable in which case you may want to try a different salon to have it fixed.

but the way thats nothing...I usually pay about $210 for cut/wash/full foil highlights. so dont worry you didnt splurge or anything - you paid the average price.

In the UK you are witinh your rights to demand your money back, the shop do not have to give you this if they offer to correct your hair.. If that was me I would go back and say how ppl have commented on your hair, but none were compliments. Also that you didn't ask to have tiger stripes and certainly wouldn't have paid for this service. I feel you have every right to either demand your money back or insist they correct it and continue on the care of your hair (as you will now have to have more chemicles in your hair), to the amount of the origional bill. Hi, I used to do my whole head as soon as my roots started to show, as I used to do it myself I just used to re highlight everything not just my roots and my hair did suffer as it was breaking off snapping etc and my hair went really thin, but I was highlighting it around every 6 weeks not 5 month so you wont notice it damaging you hair, I think you could get away with doing it every 3 month. I found my hightlights used to get really dull even with using blonding shampoos.

Have a word with your hairdresser, or if you do it yourself, then do it every 3 month and see how it goes.

If that's what makes you happy, then yeah do it. Don't worry about what your mom thinks, it is not her hair, and she does not wear it on top of her head all day. Go with what you are comfortable and happy with. If you don't end up liking it, you can always do the shaved head look for a while, and that also is popular among rockers. I would reccomend it, Only if you get metal spikes, Be sure to get a hat with a tall crown, (so the spikes dont rip through the fabric, like through a baseball cap).

Yes its hard to do on your self if you have never done it before. I always recommend for new people do use a highlighting cap to do there highlights that way they are less likely to have tiger spots and bleed spots. Honestly I recommend you go to a salon to get it done. If you don't want to spend a lot of money go to a hair school near by you because those girls and guys actually know what they are doing and have instructors supervising them. I have had beautiful highlights from salons.

I also had a horrible experience at a high-end salon. Someone must have been having a bad day. My hair turned out bold striped orange and black! I had to go back for a correction and it got very damaged bc of all of that. Don't assume a fancy salon will always do the best job.

My daughter does her own with a Revlon kit and when she came to visit last summer, I thought she had a pro do it. It was beautiful. It just depends upon your skill level.
